Gold Coast Mayor Tom Tate today handed down the $2.7 billion 2026-27 Operational Plan and City Budget with a continued focus on delivering programs and services for Gold Coasters.
The City continues to prioritise waste disposal, waste collection and recycling as part of the 2026/27 budget despite a tough global environment.
The City’s 2026-27 budget delivers a significant investment of $543 million in transport and infrastructure driving sustainable projects to meet the needs of the Gold Coast’s growing population.
The City is investing $146 million in the economy and events in 2026-27, strengthening the Gold Coast’s position as a leading destination for entertainment and business.
The City will invest $226 million towards the Gold Coast’s sport, recreation and community services and facilities in the 2026-27 City Budget.
The 2026–27 City budget is investing in the green behind the gold, with $240 million dedicated to projects that protect the natural environment and enhance recreational green spaces.
