Gold Coast Marine Precinct

The Gold Coast Marine Precinct is a dedicated 250-hectare industrial zone in Coomera. The precinct includes marine manufacturing, servicing, repairs and refits of boats. It has two of the most awarded shipyards in Australia and is regarded as the most advanced and respected marine industry cluster development in the southern hemisphere.

Dredging program

A regular dredging program maintains the Broadwater and Coomera River, allowing large vessels up-river to undergo refits and maintenance work at the Gold Coast Marine Precinct.

Customs clearance port

The Southport Yacht Club is an official Customs Clearance Site, allowing foreign vessels to arrive directly to our city as their first port in Australia.

This provides our local marine industry with more opportunities for servicing, repairs and refits and boosts our local tourism economy.

Superyacht infrastructure

Our city has over 170 superyacht berths across 9 major marinas including Australia’s largest floating megayacht berth at 160m in length, built in collaboration with the Queensland Government and Southport Yacht Club.

A Superyacht Simulation was also completed, allowing vessels up to 130 metres to enter the Broadwater and access the megayacht berth at the Southport Yacht Club.

International trade and export

As part of our commitment to encourage international trade and export, Invest GC coordinates inbound and outbound trade missions. These support the growth of local marine related businesses. This has included the coordination of trade missions to some of the world's largest marine trade shows including the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (USA) and METSTRADE (Amsterdam). Exhibiting at these trade shows provides Gold Coast businesses access to new global trade and export opportunities.
