If there are trees blocking your proposed vehicular crossing (VXO) you must consider other options to avoid damaging existing trees. If this is not possible and the tree is an assessable size tree, you will need to submit a combined application for operational works (vehicular crossing and vegetation clearing).
What's assessable vegetation?
Assessable vegetation is protected under the City Plan and is defined as vegetation that's:
- more than 4 m in height
- the trunk is more than 40 cm around the circumference when measured 1.3 m above the ground
- remnant vegetation or native understorey, as defined on our Vegetation Management Overlay Map, or
- part of disturbed or regrowth vegetation or wetland or its understorey, as defined on our Vegetation Management Overlay Map.
How to apply
Use this form to apply for a combined non-standard vehicular crossing and tree removal, operational works application.
Fees apply. Refer to our Register of fees & charges for details. The fee is OPW vehicular crossing application fee plus 50% of the OPW-VXO-Tree works as outlined in the Register of fees and charges.
