Non-standard vehicular crossing

If any aspects of the proposed crossing do not comply with the requirements outlined in Table 9.4.2-2 of the City Plan, the crossing is a non-standard vehicular crossing (VXO) which is assessable development.

Complete a questionnaire on our Driveways & vehicular crossings page to work out if an application is required and which type.

Operational works applications undergo a thorough assessment against the relevant City Plan codes.

The City requires details of the proposed crossing to ensure it complies with standards. This is to ensure that the works do not create adverse impacts for both applicant and community.

Given the more detailed assessment process, the City's assessment of a non-standard vehicular crossing takes more time when compared to the licence application for a standard vehicular crossing.

The vehicular crossing is a non-standard crossing which needs a development approval for operational works – vehicle access works.

Operational works applications undergo a thorough assessment against the relevant City Plan codes. This is to ensure that the works do not create adverse impacts for both applicant and community. As a result, completion of a licence application is a faster process.
