New Planning Scheme Program

In late 2023, Council resolved to replace the City Plan and prepare a new Planning Scheme and a Local Growth Management Strategy (LGMS).

In consultation with the Gold Coast community, the LGMS will set the strategic blueprint for the Gold Coast over the next 20 years. The new Planning Scheme will regulate development in line with the outcomes of the LGMS, State Planning Policy and the South East Queensland Regional Plan – ShapingSEQ 2023.
