All dogs must be microchipped and registered from 12 weeks of age or after 14 days of coming into the city to live. Dogs must wear a dog registration tag at all times when outside their place of residence.
As a dog owner, you must comply with legislative and environmental health requirements. For more information about responsible pet ownership visit Pet education.
Our dog registration period is from 1 September to 31 August each year. We send renewal notices in August.

Apply for the following fee discounts or concessions:• animal is now desexed• now a member of Dogs Queensland• pension concession• senior or veteran fee relief
Transfer ownership of an existing dog registration. Information for new and previous owners.
Request a refund for the balance of a dog registration fee if you have moved away from the Gold Coast, your dog has a new owner or passed away.
Order a replacement dog registration tag if it has been lost or damaged.
