February to March 2022 flood event

Heavy rain and flooding over February and March 2022 led to:

  • flash flooding to major levels impacting private residence and business in Tallebudgera and Currumbin Creek in Elanora, Tallebudgera and Currumbin Waters
  • moderate to major riverine flooding in the Albert and Logan catchments with inundation in Alberton and Staplyton suburbs
  • localised flooding in numerous locations across the Gold Coast.

As a result, the City’s Local Recovery Group developed a recovery plan to help combat the impacts of the event.
