We continue to renew culverts (under-road stormwater drainage pipes) across the city that are close to the end of their serviceable life.
We maintain over 2600 kilometres of stormwater drainage with an ongoing upgrade and renewal program. These works are part of our stormwater drainage annual capital works program.
Construction details
Existing under-road drainage pipes will be excavated and replaced with new pipes.
Community impacts during construction
- Works will be completed between 7am and 5pm, Monday to Friday and take approximately 10 to 20 days at each site, weather permitting.
- Some partial road closures will be necessary during construction. There will be no full road closures and access will be maintained for residents and motorists.
- Traffic controllers will be on duty to help and some traffic delays are expected. Please follow all signage.
- We will be working to ensure disruptions are kept to a minimum. However, nearby residents may notice construction noise at times.
