  • Project value$315,000
  • Project scheduleOctober to November 2023

We are upgrading a section of the stormwater system at the intersection of Parr Street and Brighton Street, Biggera Waters.

These works are part of our ongoing investment in our city's flood resilience.

Construction details

  • Remove existing reinforced concrete boxed culvert and replace with new ones
  • Remove existing reinforced concrete pipes and replace with new ones
  • Reinstate existing assets affected by the work, including kerb and channel, pavement, asphalt surfacing and stabilise areas including turf to the verge

Construction impacts

Works will be completed between the hours of 7 am and 5 pm, Monday to Friday and are estimated to take 8 weeks, weather permitting

Works on the verge and roadway of nearby properties on the corner of Parr and Brighton streets may lead to some potential traffic delays and inconvenience for residents. Partial traffic lane closures will be required. Traffic control will be in place to maintain access for residents and site traffic.

Emergency access and pedestrian access to properties will be maintained at all times. Street parking options will be unavailable where lane closures and works are required.

Residents may notice construction noise, dust and vibration close to the works.

Benefits to the community

  • Improved flood resilience for surrounding properties
  • Improved safety and function of the drainage network system for the community
  • Reduced ongoing maintenance requirements and costs
