Road worker with slow sign at road works

We will be reconstructing T E Peters Drive, westbound between Havana Key and Rio Vista Boulevard, to improve the overall condition of the road surface and reduce the need for regular maintenance.

Construction details

  • Road resurfacing along T E Peters Drive, Broadbeach Waters, to include removal and replacement of asphalt for an approximate distance of 780 metres
  • Kerb and channel to be reconstructed to meet Council's Land Development Guidelines
  • Partial or full driveway reconstruction to match in with kerb and channel works for 22 properties
  • Replacement of approximately 780 metres of footpath on the southern side of T E Peters Drive and upgrade to a 2 metre-wide shared footpath with localised narrowing
  • Removal of the on-road dedicated cycle lane (due to available road width and with shared path now available)
  • Bus stop reconstruction to meet Council's Land Development Guidelines
  • Stormwater pits to be upgraded to meet Council's Land Development Guidelines
  • Adjustments to line marking and road space allocation to meet safety standards
  • Reinstate traffic control devices and reflectors
  • Tree removal and pruning with compensation planting

Public impact

Construction is currently scheduled to commence in August 2021 and will be completed in approximately 28 weeks, weather permitting. Civil works are to be completed between 6.30am and 6.30pm, Monday to Friday (and Saturday as required).

During construction there will be temporary changes to traffic conditions along T E Peters Drive, traffic management and variable message boards will be in place.

We will continue to work with the community to minimise disruptions. However, local residents and businesses may be impacted by traffic disruptions, lane closures and traffic detours, limited access, construction noise and dust.

Please slow down around roadworks and take extra care in the area.

Thank you for your patience as we work to improve our city.

Benefits for the community
