Burleigh Hill – John Laws & Rudd Parks upgrades
- Project typeParks projects
- Project schedulePlanning: 2021 to 2024 | Construction: 2025 to 2026
Upgrades to Burleigh Hill will increase green space for locals and visitors to enjoy.
John Laws Park at Burleigh Hill is one of the busiest, most loved parks on the Gold Coast. As our population increases and public transport to the area improves with the extension of light rail, this area of parkland will become more popular. The upgrades are needed to maintain the Burleigh Hill experience and ensure it is accessible to everyone.
Park upgrades
- Additional green space on Burleigh Hill
- Improved pathways and lighting
- Additional picnic facilities and seating
Car parks at the top of Burleigh Hill will be relocated to Goodwin Terrace and Rudd Park to create the additional green space. There will be no net loss of car parks. Relocating the car parks will help improve traffic flow on Goodwin Terrace.
Community consultation
In 2021, we consulted the community to inform the Burleigh Heads Place Making Plan. Results show that most respondents supported the proposed changes to the parklands.
The next round of community consultation will occur when detailed design of park upgrades has begun. Consultation will be advertised on site via signage.
