We are upgrading the existing underground drainage network around Deodar Drive, Burleigh Waters. These works will improve flood resilience for properties and roads in the catchment area.
Traffic changes
Temporary road closures are in place on Deodar Drive and Symonds Road.
Project details
- Connect the existing drainage system at the intersection of Deodar Drive and Lower Gold Coast Highway
- Replace the existing stormwater pipes with larger ones along Deodar Drive
- Construct a 1200mm stormwater pipe between Symonds Road and Comet Court to collect local stormwater flows to gully pits and collector roads (Clinton Avenue, Comet Court and Symonds Road)
Community impacts
- Temporary short-term water shutdowns will be required at times but affected residents and businesses will be notified in advance
- Full but temporary road closures for extended periods of time
- Some properties may not be accessible by vehicles for short periods of time
- On-street parking will be restricted near the work zone
- School bus routes and Translink bus routes may be affected
- Earth-moving machinery and trucks may cause noise, vibration, and dust
