We are upgrading the retaining wall and water main along Tweed Street between Dutton and McLean streets. This section of Tweed Street will be closed with detours in place during the works.

Construction details

  • Reconstruct the retaining wall on the downslope, parallel to Tweed Street. We will also reconstruct the kerb, road pavement, guard rail and fencing.
  • Reconstruct the trunk water main and fill the old asbestos cement water main with grout to make it redundant.

Impact during construction

  • Work hours 6:30am to 6:30pm, Monday to Saturday
  • If night works are required, residents will be notified in advance
  • Road closure on Tweed Street between Dutton and Mclean streets with detours in place
  • Temporary speed reductions
  • Parking restrictions near the works area
  • All existing vegetation (including a large fig tree) along the retaining wall will need to be removed. There will be new planting on top of the retaining wall as well as new trees in the area
