Coomera – Viney Park upgrade

We are upgrading sport and recreation facilities which will allow more people to enjoy the park.

What we are doing

Viney Park, Coomera, provides 6.6 ha of sport and recreational open space to the northern suburbs of the Gold Coast. The park has been identified for upgrades to meet the demand created by population growth in line with the Gold Coast City Plan.

This project aims to increase the capacity for sport and recreation at this popular sports park. The upgrades will improve the functional layout of the park including an upgraded club house, public amenities block, pathways, playground and fitness areas, additional car parking, stormwater management and playing surface optimisation.

We consulted with the community throughout the design phase of this project to ensure we understood how the community wish to use and conserve this park.

Timeframe

Works to upgrade the Park will occur from July 2024 to August 2025.

Works are commencing late July 2024 with a staged opening approach – the playing fields will be the first area to open in early 2025, followed by recreation facilities, then the clubhouse and car park in mid-2025.

There will be some short-term impacts during construction. The park, playground, sporting fields and some car parking will be closed during the works.
