The Queensland Government launched The Spit Master Plan in 2019. The goal is to make The Spit a better place for people to enjoy while protecting it for future generations. The master plan was developed through master-planning and extensive community consultation.
Federation Walk Coastal Reserve is one of seven precincts in the master plan. It highlights the Gold Coast’s coastal environment, including plants, animals and landscapes that make this area unique.
We created a Landscape Concept Plan to guide the work on the reserve (approved in 2023). The proposed changes are designed to make the reserve accessible for all users, while blending gently into the natural environment and enhancing the coastal rainforest experience. Traditional Owners, State Government, City of Gold Coast, statutory authorities, and community representatives worked together to develop the Landscape Concept Plan.
We are working on the following projects:
These projects are proudly funded by the Queensland Government in association with City of Gold Coast and the Federal Government.
