Maintenance hole cover

We have scheduled sewer maintenance work throughout the city as part of the infrastructure renewal program.

The relining process creates a 'pipe within a pipe'. This innovative approach helps us to reduce the impact on the community as it removes the need to dig up and replace sewer pipes.

Project details

The work at each relining site will be carried out in 4 stages:

  1. camera inspections of the sewer pipe
  2. initial pipe cleaning
  3. relining the pipe and curing in place using steam
  4. final cleaning and inspection.

This work takes place in each location over one to two weeks.

The sewer pipe will be accessed via existing maintenance holes. If we need to enter your property to access a maintenance hole, we will contact you in advance to discuss in more detail.

Community impacts

  • Noise, dust and intermittent odour
  • Changed traffic conditions
  • Changed on-street parking arrangements
  • Temporary footpath closures and diversions

Hours of work are generally 7am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays. In some locations, night works may be required. Residents and businesses will be notified in advance.
