Helensvale – Lindfield Road – new shared path

Works are commencing to improve cycling and pedestrian connectivity along Lindfield Road between Discovery Drive and Cannington Place, Helensvale. The project will provide a safe off-road environment for pedestrians and cyclists and improve connectivity within the broader active transport network near to Helensvale State School area.

Construction details

  • Construction of approximately 320 metres of 2 metre wide path on Lindfield Road and 50 metres of 2 metre wide path on Cannington Place
  • Upgrade and installation of 8 Disability Discrimination Act 1992 (DDA) compliant pedestrian ramps on four crossing points from Discovery Drive to Cannington Place. This includes installation of 2 pairs of new kerb ramps near the intersection with Discovery Drive and Lindfield Road and at Cannington Place
  • Upgrade of existing zebra crossing and 2 pedestrian ramps with new lighting, traffic islands and pavement resurfacing at the intersection with Batlow Court and Lindfield Road
  • Upgrade of existing zebra crossing facilities and new traffic islands at Lindfield Road
  • Reconstruction of 11 vehicle crossovers to achieve a DDA compliant path

Impacts during construction

  • Minor traffic delays, noise and dust at times
  • Temporary lane closures may be required, and we will have pedestrian and traffic management in place. Road and path access will be maintained at all times
  • Residents/businesses with driveway reconstruction works will notified prior to construction
