Upgrades at Len Fox Park and the Marine Parade foreshore will provide a place for people of all abilities and generations to play, exercise, interact and socialise.

This location has been identified for future upgrades to meet the demand created by population growth, in accordance with the provisions of the City Plan.

Len Fox Park and the Marine Parade foreshore provide important social, recreational and active transport opportunities for the highly populated area of Labrador. Upgrades are recommended to provide new and upgraded facilities that will allow more people to enjoy the park and foreshore area.

The proposed upgrades will provide an opportunity to improve the Gold Coast’s ‘Broadwaterway’ – a 22-kilometre network of pathways along the foreshore of the Gold Coast Broadwater.

The project design will commence in 2025.

Benefits for the community

The City is preparing a Len Fox Park and Broadwaterway Masterplan that provides opportunities for:

  • widened pathways and improved circulation
  • pathways closer to the beach edge for greater engagement with the Broadwater
  • improved beach access
  • high quality shaded play and fitness areas
  • upgraded barbecue and picnic areas
  • upgraded seating nodes and viewing platforms
  • maximised car parking arrangements
  • new tree planting.
