We are upgrading the netball facilities and amenities at Firth Park, Mudgeeraba. The upgrade will occur in 2 phases.

Firth Park is a 15-hectare multi-purpose sports park that has 17 netball courts, a baseball diamond, 2 senior and one junior rugby league fields, a skate park and the Mudgeeraba Bowls Club.

Upgrading the facilities will increase the capacity of the park, catering for regional population growth. It will also establish Firth Park as a premier netball hub on the Gold Coast, suitable for staging large regional and state competitions.

The detailed design has been completed.

Construction details

Phase 1: September 2024 to February 2025

Construct 12 of 24 netball courts to national netball design standards and install 200 lux LED lighting
Stormwater management plan including between the netball courts
Smart lighting control system
New main switchboard
Upgrade car park with increased capacity and install LED lighting
Landscaping

Phase 2: March to December 2025

Construct the remaining 12 netball courts ad install LED lighting
Install player shade
Install spectator seating with and without shade
New toilet amenities block and upgrade existing toilet facilities
New car park and install LED lighting
Landscaping

Impact during construction

Works will take place from 6am to 5:30pm Monday to Friday and from 7:30am to 3pm on Saturday.
11 netball courts will be available during Phase 1 construction
12 netball courts will be available during Phase 2 construction
140 informal temporary carparks on grass area adjacent to the skate park will be available during construction
