It is a complex construction site with significant demolition, bulk earthworks, cranes, circulation and storage constraints, heavy machinery, nose and vibration. Badge Constructions will be responsible for the safety on site and will manage access.
There will be traffic controls and construction activities. Be alert and take extra care when moving through the area.

Background
Palm Beach Aquatic Centre was built between 1977 and 1981. It is one of our most popular aquatic facilities. The Centre is co-located with the Palm Beach-Currumbin State High School, Beree-Badalla Reserve and Salk Oval.
The centre outgrew its serviceable life and no longer met current compliance standards. The site was overdue for redevelopment to meet the changing needs of this highly urbanised area including providing a new community centre.
Masterplan
The first stage of the aquatic centre redevelopment was the 50-metre outdoor pool in 2010.
A masterplan for the stage two redevelopment was endorsed in June 2020.
It guides redevelopment of the venue into a regional aquatic centre with co-located aquatic, fitness, and community facilities. This addresses current and future demand and considers population growth.
The new centre will inject fresh life into the precinct, with subtropical design elements to reflect the culture, climate and character of the southern Gold Coast.
A major new inclusion is a contemporary community centre with multipurpose hall and breakout area, flexible spaces and a dance studio. It will be able to support a diverse range of activities and services.
The existing 50-metre outdoor pool will be retained and integrated into the redevelopment of the site. The remaining facilities have been removed to make way for the new centre.
