Runaway Bay – Lae Drive & Bayview Street road works

Works are underway to upgrade the road and footpaths from the roundabout at Lae Drive and Bayview Street to the south end of Bayview Street Bridge.

Construction details

• Upgrade road surface
• Upgrade watermain
• Replace Stormwater pipes at intersection of Poinsettia Avenue and Bayview Street
• Reconstruct kerbs and channels
• Reconstruct driveways to match new kerbs and channels
• Upgrade footpath
• Upgrade pedestrian and cycle ramp

Public impact during construction

• Temporary traffic delays – signage will provide advance work schedule
• Temporary lane closures during the day – traffic management will help coordinate any required lane closures or detours and access
• On-street parking will be limited along Lae Drive and Bayview Street
• Restricted access to carpark and park facilities
• Nightworks will occur over 2 to 3 weeks for watermain and stormwater upgrade as well as for road resurfacing
• Some noise and dust

Civil works will be completed during the day over 7 months. Residents will be notified before night works start.
