Beach wedding permit

If you are planning to say ‘I do’ on the golden sands of the Gold Coast, you must first apply for a permit. There are no application or permit fees.

Beach weddings are approved for simple ceremonies only. Ceremonies are limited to 2 hours in length – including set up – and a maximum of 50 people. These limits keep the impact on the environment and other beach users to a minimum. Beach weddings are unsuitable for large formal weddings.

Some beaches are unavailable for beach weddings or have limited access during major events.

  • Echo Beach on the Burleigh Head National Park side of Tallebudgera Creek
