Roadside dining permit

We regulate and monitor roadside/footpath dining to ensure all businesses operate in a way that is safe and complies with local laws. You will need a roadside dining permit from us if you wish to operate outdoor dining on public footpaths. You don't need a permit from us for outdoor dining on private property

Roadside dining permits are renewed annually and are valid until 31 August each year. For more information visit Permits & licensing renewals.

For information on applying for a permit and using the public footpath for outdoor dining, refer to our Outdoor Dining Guidelines(PDF, 1MB) .
