Flexicar is a flexible and affordable membership-based car-sharing service owned by Hertz that operates on the Gold Coast and in other cities across Australia.

You can rent a vehicle from as little as an hour, for up to 5 days, with dedicated Flexicar carparks conveniently located in central locations across Southport, Surfers Paradise, Broadbeach, Robina, Varsity Lakes and Burleigh Heads.

How does car sharing work?

We have a fleet of 20 cars – choose from small hatchbacks, sedans, SUVs and vans. All vehicles are recent models with 5-star ANCAP safety ratings.

Signed and dedicated Flexicar carparks are located in high activity central areas:

Southport

  • Queen Street, outside the Broadwater Parklands Light Rail Station
  • Como Crescent, near the corner of Duke Place, diagonally across the road from the Meriton Sundale
  • Village Boulevard, near the corner with Hill Street, opposite Village Heart
  • Clarke Street, near the corner with Village Boulevard, opposite the public carpark
  • Von Itzstein Street, near the corner with Nexus Way

Surfers Paradise

  • Frederick Street, near the intersection with Garfield Terrace.
  • The Esplanade, opposite the intersection with View Ave, just to the north of the motorcycle parking bays.
  • Hamilton Avenue, near the intersection with Northcliffe Terrace.
  • Pacific Street, near the intersection with Peak Ave.

Broadbeach

  • Broadbeach Boulevard (eastern side) between First and Second Avenues.
  • Surf Parade, near the intersection (roundabout) with Queensland Avenue, adjacent to Federation Park.
  • Old Burleigh Road in between Victoria Avenue and Albert Avenue, opposite Kurrawa Park
  • Anne Avenue, near intersection with Old Burleigh Road

Robina

  • Christine Ave, near the intersection with The Crestway

Varsity Lakes

  • Varsity Parade, near intersection with Lake Street (Lake Orr side)

Burleigh Heads

  • The Esplanade, north of the carpark entry near Justin Park

Vehicles are cleaned and maintained by Flexicar on a weekly basis, or more often if needed. City Parking enforces the dedicated carparks.

How do I book a car?

  • Drivers must be aged 18+ years, hold a current driver licence and own a smartphone.
  • Download the Flexicar app and follow the instructions to register for the service.
  • Once registered, you can book and unlock a car using the Flexicar mobile app. At the end of the hire, return the car to the dedicated parking spot where you collected the car.
  • Flexicar can be contacted 24/7 via the app or through a call centre.
