Electric vehicle charging stations

Electric vehicles (EVs) are becoming a popular choice as a cleaner, safer and more cost-effective means of transport than conventional internal combustion vehicles. To support this shift, we are rolling out Council-owned electric vehicle charging stations to help build the network across the region.

We have installed high powered Tritium RTM75 EV 75KW charging stations in Broadbeach, Bundall, Carrara, Coolangatta, Nerang, Miami, Pimpama and Southport. The power used to charge vehicles at these stations will be offset by power generated by our virtual power plant, which harnesses solar energy from more than 47 city buildings.

The charging stations are within a 50km radius of each other.

How to charge your electric vehicle & make payments

You can use our charging stations to recharge the battery of electric cars, neighbourhood electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids. Our charging stations are managed by Chargefox.
