Commercial vehicle permits help regulate and manage parking in commercial loading zones throughout the city. The permit allows a vehicle displaying a Commercial Vehicle Permit Label to park for a maximum period of up to 30 minutes in a commercial loading zone (unless otherwise signed).
Note: If you have an existing permit, do not apply for a new one. You can amend your existing permit to update vehicle or contact details. Visit our Amend/cancel a permit page. We will notify you when your permit is due for renewal.
Who can apply?
Working vehicles such as utilities, vans and dual cabs that are commercially registered with the Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads do not need a permit.
All other vehicle types (e.g. sedan, wagon) will require a permit to use a commercial loading zone. To be eligible, your vehicle must be commercially registered with the Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads.
Conditions of use
The conditions of use for commercial vehicle permits are listed on the documentation that comes with your permit.
- The permit holder must affix the permit to the vehicle within three days after the issue of the permit.
- The permit must be displayed in a clearly visible location on the left-hand side front windscreen of the vehicle at all times.
- The vehicle is permitted to be parked for a maximum period of 30 minutes in a commercial loading zone (unless otherwise signed).
Approval is granted under the conditions of the stated legislation only, and does not remove the requirement to comply with other statutory and/or other local government requirements.
