You can apply for a residential care service parking permit if you are a carer who is contracted to or employed by an approved home care service provider.
A residential care service parking permit allows carers unlimited parking in time-limited parking areas, subject to conditions.
A residential care service parking permit can only be used in time-limited parking areas of 2 hours or more (2P zones or longer). The carer must be actively carrying out their paid work while parked.
Note: If you have an existing permit, do not apply for a new one. You can amend your existing permit to update car or contact details. Visit our Amend/cancel a permit page.
A residential care service parking permit is for paid carers. If you are an unpaid or volunteer carer who cares for a particular person at a specific address, you should apply for a carer parking permit.

You can only get a residential care service parking permit if you are employed by or contracted to an approved home care service provider.
The person who provides the care must apply for the permit, not the organisation they work for.
An approved home service provider is an approved provider under the Aged Care Act 1997 as a home care service.
Before completing your application, you will need to know your vehicle registration details. If you use more than one vehicle, you can list all the vehicles on the application. You will receive one permit listing all the vehicles it applies to.
