Our Community Projects program

Our main funding program for community groups is the Community Projects Program.

This provides financial contributions for carrying out maintenance, renewal or capital works (improvements) to community facilities on land we control. The program supports community, sport, recreational and educational activities for Gold Coast residents.

Types of projects supported include:

  • equipment and resources
  • facility renovations and upgrades
  • change rooms, amenities, club house improvements
  • sports-specific infrastructure (for example, dug outs)
  • seed funding to kick-start plans for upgrades.

Funding available:

Project thresholds vary by program category, ranging from under $5000 to under $25,000. For applications above these thresholds, please complete the Community Projects Program Above Category Threshold application.

Our goal is support a number of lease and licence holders annually in each divisional area within the city. Grants will be allocated based on project proposals meeting the objectives of Council's Divisional Sports Plan and the overall need for the project in the city.

Gambling Community Benefit Fund

The Gambling Community Benefit Fund is Queensland’s largest one-off community grants program, providing significant funding to not-for-profit community groups.

There are multiple rounds each year, including a super round offering up to $100,000 and standard rounds offering up to $35,000.

Supported items include:

  • events, training and workshops
  • equipment and facility improvements
  • machinery, vehicles and boats
  • marketing and publications
  • solar.
