Sports grounds and facility bookings

We manage over 400 sport and recreational facilities. Organisations can apply to use these facilities through our bookings team.

Who is eligible?

Sports clubs, schools or organisations may be eligible for the annual or seasonal fee structure below if they:

• are incorporated, community-based and not-for-profit
• draw the majority of their members from within the City of Gold Coast's boundaries
• hold public liability insurance of at least $20 million.

Apply for a sports facility booking

Applications are assessed against the eligibility criteria. Please refer to the relevant terms and conditions below for more information:

If you need to use an outdoor sports field or facility but you don't qualify as a sports club, school or organisation, you can apply to hold a:

• commercial activity in a park
• social gathering and private function in a park
• community event on public land

How fields and facilities are allocated

• Allocations are based on user needs, for a 12-month period per calendar year. Priority is given to the sport currently in season*.
• Expressions of Interest (EOIs) should be submitted before October, with successful applicants generally confirmed by February.
• You will receive a booking confirmation and an invoice for the applicable annual/seasonal fee for each facility.
• Blanket bookings are not accepted.
• Once eligible bookings are finalised, remaining time slots are available for other users.
• Additional bookings can be requested throughout the year if space is available.
• Organisations do not have authority to approve other users. All approvals must be obtained from the City of Gold Coast.

ROU fees and charges

* Season: Winter – April to September; Summer – October to March (guide only). There is an out of season fee of $66 per facility, per week.
