Assistance services at home for people with disability

We provide assistance to eligible people with disability in their homes.

The Queensland Government and other organisations also provide assistance.

Braille bin lid stickers

Braille bin lid stickers are free for residents who are blind or have low vision.

These are for general waste bins, recycling bins and green waste bins.

To request the stickers, contact us via one of the options below:

When requesting your stickers, please let us know if you need assistance to apply them to your bins.

Large print waste & recycling calendars

Free large print waste and recycling calendars are available. Call 07 5582 9399.

Assistance with bins

Residents who have difficulty putting their bins out for collection due to illness or disability may be eligible for an assisted bin service.

Assistance with mowing - nature strips & verges

Do you have difficulty mowing your nature strip and verge?

If you are unable to do this mowing due to medical and financial reasons, you may be eligible for assistance.

Our Libraries offer a service for residents who are unable to leave their home due to illness or disability.

Home Assist Secure

The Queensland Government administers the Home Assist Secure program to help people remain in their own homes.

The program provides eligible Queenslanders with information about:

  • health
  • safety and security
  • assistance with minor home repairs and modifications

St Vincent de Paul Society Home Maintenance & Modification program

The St Vincent de Paul Society provides a home maintenance and modification program for people who are frail, aged (seniors/pensioners) or have a disability.

The program provides an array of in-house modifications to enable people to continue living independently.
