Changing Places toilets are different to standard accessible toilets. They have extra features, more space,
and are accessed using a Master Locksmith Access Key (MLAK).
Each Changing Places toilet provides:
- a height adjustable adult-sized changing bench
- a ceiling tracking hoist system
- additional circulation space
- a safe and clean environment.
Please note: You need to bring your own four-looped sling to use the hoist.

Broadbeach – Kurrawa–Pratten Park (All Abilities Playground)
The Kurrawa-Pratten park changing places toilet is temporarily out of order while the hoist is being repaired. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
The Changing Places toilet is located near the Kurrawa Surf Life Saving Club (just outside the All Abilities
playground). It replaced the old change room in the playground. The new facility has more space and a wide
entry door for beach wheelchairs and includes a shower. A beach wheelchair is available for loan for free
from the Kurrawa Surf Life Saving Club. For more information on the beach wheelchair, or to borrow a key for
the Changing Places toilet, phone the club on 07 5527 5660.
Two off-street accessible car parking spaces are located approximately 100 metres south of the toilet.
Broadbeach – Pacific Fair shopping centre
The Changing Places toilet is on the ground floor of The Arcade. To find out more visit Pacific Fair's

Bundall – HOTA Gallery
The Changing Places toilet is located on the ground floor of the new gallery. This toilet includes a shower
and an MLAK is not needed. To find out more visit HOTA’s Accessibility web page.
Burleigh Heads – Burleigh Beach
The Changing Places toilet at Burleigh Heads has a shower and wide entry door for beach wheelchairs. The
toilet is located next to Burleigh Pavilion on Goodwin Terrace. Eligible visitors can borrow a key from the
Burleigh Heads Mowbray Park Surf Life Saving Club, which is approximately 300 metres north of the toilet.

Carrara – Gold Coast Sports & Leisure Centre
The Changing Places toilet is located on level two. You can borrow an MLAK from Reception. Please contact

Gold Coast Airport
The Changing Places toilet at Gold Coast Airport is located in the Domestic Departure Lounge, in the central
amenities’ corridor, opposite Gate 12. This toilet contains a shower and is open from 4am to 11pm
daily. An MLAK is not currently required to access this toilet. To find out more visit Gold Coast

Miami – Miami Aquatic Centre
The Changing Places toilet is located near the warm water pool. This facility includes a shower.
Palm Beach – Palm Beach Aquatic Centre
The Changing Places toilet is located near the warm water pool. This facility includes a shower.
You can use your MLAK to access the changing places room. If you do not have your own MLAK, a key can be accessed by asking the lifeguard at the warm water pool. You will need to bring your own four-looped sling to use the hoist.
Paradise Point – out-of-service
The Changing Places toilet:
- at this location is undergoing repairs and is currently out of service. This webpage will be updated
once the toilet is operational again. We apologise for any inconvenience.
- is located in the Paradise Point Parklands, along the Esplanade, near the Ephraim Island Bridge end of
the parklands. It has a wide entry door for beach wheelchairs and a shower.
There is an off-street accessible car parking space located approximately 50 metres west of the toilet, and
on-street accessible spaces along the Esplanade.
Pimpama – Pimpama Sports Hub Aquatic Centre
The Changing Places toilet is located near the warm water pool. This toilet includes a shower.
Southport – Broadwater Parklands
The Changing Places toilet includes a shower and wide entry door for beach wheelchairs. The toilet is located
to the south of the Gold Coast Aquatic Centre.
Accessible car parking spaces are located directly outside the Changing Places toilet.
Please note: The hoist located within the Broadwater Parklands Changing Places facility is
temporarily out of order. This page will be updated as soon as has been repaired. We apologise for any
inconvenience this may cause.
Tallebudgera Creek – Tallebudgera Creek Park
The Changing Places toilet is located beside the playground. This toilet includes a shower.
There are off-street accessible car parking spaces located approximately 50 metres from the toilet in the
Tallebudgera Creek car park.
Future facilities
New Changing Places toilets are planned for Robina City Parklands. Updates will be provided on this page once
these toilets are complete.
Keys to access the toilets
These toilets require a Master Locksmith Access Key. An MLAK can be purchased from the Master Locksmiths
Association of Australasia by phoning 1800 810 698 or visit the Master Locksmith Access Key website. Please
note that there is a fee for the key and eligibility criteria.
