HOTA Home of the Arts

We believe experiencing the arts is essential for young people. Art has the power to unite, challenge, and transform. A cultural education is critical in the development of the next generation, our future leaders.

Our programs are supported by experienced educators. We are aligned with the Australian Curriculum. Services available include:

  • school group bookings
  • travel for students is subsidised through the McIlwain Bus Fund

Our HOTA Gallery is open all year round. We can provide an inquiry-based education program for your students. This is delivered by experienced educators and artists.

Explore the program here or email Renae Belton belton@hota.com.au for more information.

Indigenous Artist Camp

Judy Watson teaching at artists camp 2017

Each year, we facilitate the Indigenous Artist Camp. The camp is a significant development and creative opportunity for Gold Coast based Indigenous artists. The camp is held for emerging and established local Indigenous artists at South Stradbroke Island.

Take a look at the outstanding Indigenous Artist Camp books produced each year as an outcome of the program. The books are key resources, which provide students with insight into First Nations stories and their art culture.
