Park weddings

All bookings are in two-hour increments only. Please do not set up the area earlier than your booking time, as there may be another wedding before yours.

Acoustic and amplified music is fine, but please respect local park users and nearby residents by keeping music to a suitable volume.

The consumption of alcohol in a public park is not permitted under State Government legislation.

You may bring your own wedding set-up including carpeted aisle, archway, flags and/or a signing table. Chairs are limited to 20 in respect to other park users. You can erect a 3-metre x 3-metre pop-up marquee, however, please do not place pegs in the grass.

Vehicle access is not permitted, and park gates will not be unlocked under any circumstance for private events. All parks recommended for weddings have nearby roads / parking spaces so only a short walk to the aisle is required.

We ask that the confetti be biodegradable. You can also use loose rose petals and/or bubbles. Rice is prohibited as it attracts wildlife.

We strongly suggest you have a Plan B in place in case of rain or storms. We have several venues that have a small undercover area that would accommodate a small wedding however, the undercover area cannot be booked exclusively. These parks are Laguna Park, Cascade Gardens and Harley Park.

Please contact us as soon as possible on 07 5667 5972 in the event of a cancellation/change of date. This way we can free the booking time and make it available to another couple.

We are not responsible for advising you of any other events that may be held in and around the Gold Coast on your wedding day. We will of course refuse any bookings for the park that coincide with your wedding. There are certain events, however, over which we have no direct control.

The Crown Land (Reserves) Act does not allow for exclusive use of the park or for an area to be physically cordoned off from the public.

There is no provision for electrical power in the parks. You will need to make alternative arrangements if you require a public address system (PA). Please note: no amplification over 72 decibels is allowed in Gold Coast parks.

We keep our parks and gardens tidy on a routine maintenance program. We cannot provide special mowing or servicing of the area before your ceremony. We cannot control leaf or other debris from people using the area before your ceremony. Under no circumstances will we issue park gate keys or unlock gates for private functions such as weddings.

If you are considering having your ceremony on a Gold Coast surf beach, you will need to apply for a Beach wedding permit.

For flat water beaches, please book adjacent parkland (e.g. Tallebudgera Creek book Tallebudgera Creek Park).

Located at HOTA Parklands, St Margaret’s Chapel is non-denominational and can be booked for weddings, christenings, and church services.

The chapel seats 50 people comfortably with enough standing space for 10 guests. St Margaret’s Chapel can be booked in 2 hour increments only.
