Park weddings

If you’re planning an outdoor wedding, the Gold Coast has an amazing selection of picturesque parks perfect for your big day.

We recommend making a booking for your selected park to secure your date early. When your booking is approved, we will not book another private gathering that coincides with your ceremony.

Guidelines for park weddings

  • Park space can be booked for up to 3 hours including set up and pack down.
  • You may bring your own set-up including carpeted aisle, archway, flags, a signing table and up to 20 chairs.
  • Pop-up marquees can be erected – maximum size 3m x 3m. No pegs please.
  • No vehicles are permitted in parks outside designated parking areas.
  • Park gates cannot be unlocked under any circumstances for private events.
  • There is no provision for electrical power in the parks.
  • Please keep acoustic and amplified music under 72 decibels.
  • Alcohol cannot be consumed in public parks as per Queensland Government legislation.
  • Please use biodegradable confetti, loose flower petals or bubbles. No rice or balloons please.
  • We cannot grant exclusive use of a park, or physically cordon off an area from the public, as per the Crown Land (Reserves) Act.
  • Our parks and gardens are regularly maintained but we cannot provide special mowing or servicing of the area before your ceremony.

Broadwater Parklands

Broadwater Parklands has some of the most stunning views on the Gold Coast. It is a popular wedding ceremony venue, with a dedicated rooftop ceremony location that offers an amazing backdrop for your special day.

St Margaret's Chapel

Located at HOTA Parklands, St Margaret’s Chapel is non-denominational and can be booked for weddings, christenings, and church services.

The chapel seats 50 people comfortably with enough standing space for 10 guests. St Margaret’s Chapel can be booked in 2 hour increments only.

Beach weddings

If you are considering having your ceremony on a Gold Coast surf beach, you will need to apply for a Beach wedding permit.

For flat water beaches, please book adjacent parkland. For example, for a wedding at Tallebudgera Creek, book Winders Park or Kevin Gates Park.

We recommend you check What's On Gold Coast and My Neighbourhood for any scheduled events, Council projects or other activities that may clash with your proposed date and location.

We strongly suggest you have a Plan B in place in case of rain or storms. Laguna Park, Cascade Gardens and Harley Park have undercover areas that can accommodate a small wedding, however, these spaces cannot be booked exclusively.

Booking fees are non-refundable and will apply once your booking has been confirmed.

Amend or cancel a booking

Please contact us as soon as possible on 07 5667 5972 in the event of a cancellation/change of date. This way we can free the booking time and make it available for another couple.
