Social gatherings & private functions in parks

Use this form to book a park:

  • for social gatherings and private functions for more than 50 people, or
  • if you intend to take any infrastructure other than table, chairs and a small marquee into the park, for example
    • inflatable equipment or jumping castle
    • animal related or amusement activities
    • marquees larger than 3m x 3m.

No booking is required if your gathering is a group of 50 or less people and no infrastructure is being taken into the park.

Please note: We keep our parks and gardens tidy on a routine maintenance program. We cannot provide special mowing or servicing of the area before your event. We cannot control leaf or other debris from people using the area before your event. Under no circumstances will we issue park gate keys or unlock gates for private functions such as weddings, birthday parties and/or social gatherings.

Jumping castle or inflatable amusement device

If you plan to have a social gathering with a jumping castle or inflatable amusement device you must use a commercial operator to supply, install and operate the inflatable device.

Jumping castles are not permitted for social gatherings at Gold Coast foreshore parks.

How to apply

Your booking will ensure that there are no other large group bookings accepted for the same time and location. Bookings also ensure we can provide equitable access to the park. Any approval of a booking does not guarantee exclusive use of the area and its facilities, so full cooperation with others who also have permission to use the park is required.

Events and gatherings which have infrastructure or over 50 attendees that do not have a booking or are in breach of the terms and conditions for use of Council-controlled parklands. Such events may be penalised by City's Local Law Officers under Local Law No. 9 (Parks and Reserves) 2008.

Fees

If applicable, park fees will be invoiced after we assess your application.

Park booking: $124
Gold Coast Regional Botanic Gardens booking: $320

St Margaret's Chapel: $522.50 (for 2 hours)

Booking fees are non-refundable. This includes any booking affected by wet weather.

Gold Coast Regional Botanic Gardens – Rotary Education Pavilion

St Margaret's Chapel
