Recycled water carrier connections

We operate recycled water filling stations that are available to approved recycled water carriers. All filling stations are accessed through an automated system which requires an access device from us.

Recent changes to the QLD Health Guidelines have changed approved uses for recycled water carriers. Recycled water used for dust suppression must now be obtained from our Merrimac or Pimpama Recycled Water Filling Stations.

Mandatory recycled water training

Before collecting or transporting recycled water, all persons working with recycled water or recycled water infrastructure must successfully complete our mandatory recycled water training course. The course covers:

  • human and environmental risks associated with recycled water and how these can be managed
  • approved and prohibited uses of recycled water
  • obligations and responsibilities when using and accessing our recycled water supply.

The course is available online via our online induction portal and take approximately 20 minutes to complete. Once you have registered for an account, select ‘Recycled water user training – carrier operators’ from the inductions list.

Online training portal

Once completed you must email a copy of your training certificate to applications@goldcoast.qld.gov.au to instigate the process of having a City of Gold Coast Access card issued to you.

You will be required to print your certificate of competency and carry on your persons when accessing or filling from a City recycled water filling station. Please ensure you have personal ID (for example, drivers licence) available if requested by one of our officers.
