The City provides access to potable and recycled water via filling stations for customers who require access to bulk volumes of water. You can apply for access to metered standpipes to draw water from the reticulation system via an agreement with the City.
Filling stations for water carriers
Filling stations are permanent outlets to dispense water into a tanker or other portable water vessel. They provide an option for business customers to access bulk volumes of potable (drinking) or recycled water.
The City operates both potable (drinking) water and recycled water filling stations for water carriers who have obtained approval for access.
Recycled water filling stations
We operate recycled water filling stations that can be accessed through an automated system which requires an access key tag.
To apply to become a recycled water carrier and learn about mandatory recycled water training, visit Recycled water carrier connections.
Potable water filling stations
We operate 12 approved domestic drinking water filling stations.
To gain access approval, you must:
If water is to be used for drinking purposes or domestic use, you will also need to hold a mobile food licence under the Food Act 2006 (Qld).
Responsibility for the quality of water supplied from a tanker filling station transfers to you as the customer at the filling station outlet.
From time to time, fill stations may be shutdown for scheduled maintenance. If there is a scheduled shutdown we'll update the Drinking water filling station page or send you an SMS with details.
If you experience a problem at a fill station, report the issue by calling us on 1300 000 928.
