Join Dr Gabi Gildea (PhD, Accredited Exercise Physiologist) for an empowering workshop designed to help young women in their teens to mid 20s feel confident, capable and strong in the gym.

For many women, stepping into the gym can feel intimidating. Whether it’s not knowing where to start, feeling out of place in male-dominated spaces or second-guessing your technique – these barriers are common, and they’re valid.

At the same time, this stage of life is critical for building lifelong health habits. Strength training plays a key role in supporting physical health, mental wellbeing, confidence and long-term outcomes like bone density, muscle mass and injury prevention.

This session is designed to bridge the gap between wanting to train and actually feeling confident enough to do it.

Led in a supportive and welcoming environment, Lift Like A Girl will give you the knowledge, structure and hands-on experience you need to start strength training with confidence.

This isn’t about chasing a certain look. It’s about building strength and learning how to train with purpose.

What to expect:

  • A practical, evidence-based education session on strength training for women
  • Breaking down common myths
  • Learning how to structure effective gym sessions
  • A guided, beginner-friendly strength workout
  • Coaching on technique, equipment use and how to train independently
  • A take-home strength program template to support your next steps

Parents and guardians are welcome to stay for the duration of the event

Arrival at 8am for a 8:15am start. Limited to 30 tickets.

This event is proudly supported by the Active & Healthy Alliance, Gold Coast.
