Doug Jennings Park
Gold Coast Waterways Authority is the trustee for Doug Jennings Park. The Authority manages the park in keeping with its recreational purposes for the benefit of the community.
Located at The Spit, this 30 hectare park offers ample space, flat grounds, plenty of shade, and accessible car parking. Making this a perfect location for any major city event, such as festivals.
The park also welcomes low impact recreational activities, as well as commercial and private events.

It’s also a popular spot for fishing, surfing, boating, swimming, picnics, dog walking and relaxing.
The CBD provides as a stunning backdrop across the Broadwater. Take a stroll from the Moondarewa Spit along the Seaway Promenade to enjoy the park's beauty.
The Seaway Kiosk is a nice lunch spot and has a large deck that overlooks the park.
Accessibility
Access for people with disabilities includes a pathway leading around the park from one end to another, disabled toilets, and disabled parking bays.
The park also has fantastic facilities including:
- Picnic shelters and tables
- Fish cleaning station
- Beach showers and drinking fountains with dog bowls
- Two public toilet facilities (one near the Kiosk and the other along the Moondarewa Spit)
- Bike racks
- Off leash dog beach
- Marine Stadium Jetty Pontoon
- Seating all along the Seaway Promenade
There is a large outdoor carpark (Doug Jennings Park Carpark) located at the end of Seaworld Drive, The Spit. More parking along the ring road.
Dog exercise areas
There is an off leash dog beach for dogs to swim, exercise and socialise.
Access to this area is between the Kiosk and Sand Bypass Pumping Jetty. There is alternative access along the Seaway Breakwall.
Dogs must be walked on a leash unless otherwise stated and are prohibited in all children's playground areas.
City of Gold Coast has numerous areas where you can exercise your dog off leash.
