Gainsborough Environmental Reserve
Gainsborough Environmental Reserve contains more than seven hectares of regenerating natural vegetation along with a constructed wetland system. The wetlands have been designed to capture and treat stormwater runoff before it enters Hotham Creek and ultimately, Moreton Bay Marine Park.
This reserve is becoming popular with bird watchers due to the diversity of species frequenting the urban habitat.
There is a series of popular 'nature play' playgrounds along with picnic shelters and other facilities, all within short walking distance of the environmental reserve.
With a network of concrete pathways, it is easy to get around the wetlands on foot, bike, scooter or wheelchair.
Note: Dogs must be walked on a leash unless otherwise stated and are prohibited in all children's playground areas.
