Runaway Bay Sports Precinct East
This park features sports fields (rugby league and soccer), an athletics track and oval, a cycling track and a skating facility. Runaway Bay Community Centre, Runaway Library and Runaway Bay War Memorial Cenotaph are also located within this park.
There is a shady bike park and playground area beside the Library and Community Centre. Kids will love riding around a large, flat, concrete bike path, skating in the skate bowl, and having a go on the mini rock-climbing wall at the playground.
Almost completely fenced off from the road and the carpark, the bike path has two loops you can take. The outer loop takes you around the entire park area, while the inner loop has the learn to ride signs, roundabout, and shorter paths. A large part of the bike path is under huge, well established trees, so this is a great spot even on those hot days. There are seats for parents to sit on and watch from too.
For skaters, there is a small and simple skate bowl, ideal for the younger kids but suitable for older ones too. There is also a simple playground with a slide and swings, a mini rock climbing wall and a Liberty Swing.
