Completion: August 2020
Cost: $270,000

Project information

Works are commencing on the construction of a new shared path along Racecourse Drive, between Ashmore Road and 20 Racecourse Drive. The project will improve safety for pedestrians and cyclists and support active travel in the area.

This project forms part of our investment to extend our path network and will create a better connected Gold Coast.

The City of Gold Coast is working closely with Queensland Health and the Australian Federal Government to support our city in the response and recovery of COVID-19. We’re committed to delivering essential services for our community and we continue to work on improvements for the city. We acknowledge this is a particularly sensitive time for our community.

Construction details

  • construction of 260 metres of shared path with a width of 2.5 metres.
  • removal and reconstruction of one vehicle crossover.

Works are scheduled to commence in July 2020 and will be completed by August 2020, weather permitting. Works will be carried out between the hours of 7am to 5pm Monday to Friday.

To enable the construction of the new path, a worksite will be in place with a temporary path detour. Access to businesses will be maintained at all times.

For the safety of road users and construction workers, a temporary reduced speed zone will also be in place as well as local traffic management.

Benefits for the community

  • Key active transport connection to the Gold Coast Turf Club, the Bundall business precinct and HOTA redevelopment.
  • Improved path connectivity on the west bound side of Racecourse Drive.
  • Compliance with the Disability Discrimination Act 1992.

Thank you for your patience.
