City of Gold Coast, the Queensland Government and other organisations can provide assistance to eligible people with a disability in their homes.

Large print waste and recycling calendars

Free large print waste and recycling calendars are available by phoning 07 5582 9399.

Assistance with bins

Residents who have difficulty putting their bins out for collection due to illness or disability may be eligible for an assisted bin service. For more information visit our residential bin collection page or phone 07 5582 9399.

Assistance with mowing (nature strips fronting residential properties)

Residents who have difficulty maintaining their nature strip, due to medical reasons, may be eligible for assistance with mowing. Visit our nature strip and verge mowing page or phone 07 5667 5972.

In-home library service

Gold Coast Libraries offer a service for house-bound residents unable to leave their homes due to illness or disability. For more information visit our Libraries website.


Home maintenance and modification


Home Assist Secure

The Queensland Government administers the Home Assist Secure program to help people remain in their own homes. The program provides eligible Queenslanders with information about health, safety and security, and assistance with minor home repairs and modifications. St Vincent de Paul Society Home Maintenance and Modification program

The St Vincent de Paul Society provides a home maintenance and modification program for people who are frail, aged or have a disability.
