Many activities and events are held across the Gold Coast to celebrate our cultural diversity and to support our multicultural residents.
Gold Coast Libraries
Gold Coast Libraries provide a range of free programs and servics for members of the community who speak English as a second language.
Community organisations
As member of the Gold Coast Multicultural Network, the City of Gold Coast supports and works collaboratively with various not-for-profit organisations and community groups.

Harmony week
Harmony Week occurs annually in March with Harmony Day being held on March 21st, which is the United Nations International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. Harmony Week is about inclusiveness, respect and belonging for all Australians, regardless of cultural or linguistic background, united by a set of core Australian values.

Queensland Multicultural Month
Multicultural Month is a Queensland Government initiative which is celebrated in August each year.
Visit the Queensland Government’s Multicultural Month website and check out their events calendar to find out what celebrations will be held during Queensland Multicultural Month.
If your organisation is planning to hold a multicultural activity or event, the City’s annual Community Grants Program may provide an opportunity to seek funding. Visit also the City Connect program page to find out about the next grant writing information and capacity building workshops for local non-for-profit groups.
There are also many other external grant opportunities available such as the Celebrating Multicultural Queensland (CMQ) program .
