Seniors Week is held during August each year and provides an opportunity for everyone to come together and celebrate the valuable contributions that seniors make to our city.

The City provides grants to eligible non-profit groups to hold events during Seniors Week. Events need to:

  • build networks for seniors across the city
  • promote healthy ageing
  • promote positive community attitudes to ageing and seniors
  • build the capacity of Gold Coast organisations to provide services
  • provide information relevant to Gold Coast seniors.

Applications for the 2020-21 Community Grants Program including Seniors Week will open in 2020. For more information about the grants please visit our Community Grants Program web page.

Council on the Ageing (COTA) Queensland currently receives Queensland Government funding to collaboratively plan, run and subsidise Seniors Week events. For more information about these grants visit the COTA Qld website.
