Project information

As part of our road maintenance program, we will be reconstructing Boundary Street, Ward Street and Petrie Street, Coolangatta.

These major road works will improve the overall condition and amenity of the road surfaces and reduce the need for regular maintenance.

Construction details

  • reconstruct 12,000 square metres of road
  • replace 1,800 metres of kerb and channel
  • replace 1,000 metres of footpath
  • replace 800 metres of water main pipe and associated water services
  • upgrade stormwater infrastructure.

Construction impacts

We are working to minimise disruptions. However, residents, businesses and tourists may notice construction noise and dust.

Road closures and traffic detours will be required; traffic management will be on site.

Please slow down and take extra care in the area.

Parking on Ward Street and Boundary Street will be unavailable when those streets are being reconstructed.

Works will be completed during the day from Monday to Saturday, between 6am and 6pm. Occasional night works may be required. Thank you for your patience.
