The City of Gold Coast (City) has now endorsed a new Solid Waste Strategy. The strategy provides a clear vision and plan for managing the City’s growing solid waste over the next nine years.

Public consultation on the draft Solid Waste Strategy closed on Friday 5 December 2014.

Thank you to all who contributed. All feedback was considered in the development of the final Solid Waste Strategy and strategy implementation plan.

What is solid waste?

Solid waste is unwanted solid material that usually ends up in a bin. Otherwise called rubbish, refuse, garbage or trash, it includes litter, illegally dumped waste and recyclables. It doesn't include wastewaters, sewage or other liquid wastes.
