Payment plans

Do you need assistance to manage your Council rates and water bills?  We provide the following options:

Payment plan options

If you have monies outstanding and will not be able to pay in full by the due date, you may apply for one of our payment plan options listed below. This will allow you extra time to pay, without incurring interest or attracting recovery action.

If you have monies overdue and do not enter into an agreed payment plan with us, interest charges of three (3) per cent per annum, compounding daily, will apply to any overdue balances. Similarly, if you enter into a payment plan and do not adhere to the agreed payment schedule, interest charges and recovery action will commence.

Short-term payment plan

Need a little extra time to pay, without incurring any interest? This plan is designed to help you pay off your current bill, in instalments you can afford before your next bill arrives.

You can choose weekly, fortnightly or monthly instalments.

Log into My Account or call us on 07 5667 5995 or 1300 366 659 to set up a short-term payment plan for a single period.

Medium-term payment plan

Need longer time to pay, without incurring any interest? This plan will enable you to pay off your current and future bills in instalments over the next two years.

You can choose weekly, fortnightly or monthly instalments.

Call us on 07 5667 5995 or 1300 366 659 to set up a medium-term payment plan to cover multiple periods.

Hardship payment plan

Are you experiencing financial hardship due to the COVID-19 pandemic? To make it easier to manage your payments, you can apply here for up to 10 months of extra time to pay your rates and water bills. You will need to make regular minimum payments of $5 or more to qualify.

This assistance package plan will not pay off your debt to Council but it will allow you more time to pay and will cease interest and recovery action for up to 10 months. To reduce the amount outstanding you will need to increase your payment amount or frequency when this becomes possible.

Complete the online request form or call us on 07 5667 5995 or 1300 366 659 to request a hardship payment plan.

Pay in advance

You can make payments to your account at any time.

Simply use any of the payment methods listed on the payments page of your notice to get ahead. Any credits on your account will reduce the amount outstanding on your next bill.

Note: some credit card payment options incur a surcharge.

Direct debit

A 'set and forget' way to pay your rates and water.

This payment method can also be used in conjunction with a payment plan. It will not stop interest or allow extra time to pay as a payment plan is required to do this.

Choose to either have your full amount taken from your bank account on the due date or schedule regular payments from your bank. This will help you manage your budget and ensure your bills are paid on time, every time.

Online setup is quick and easy in My Account, and you can change or cancel your direct debit any time.

There are no fees for a direct debit from a bank account, debit card or credit card.
