Beach and surf safety program (primary and secondary)
Help save lives by promoting surf safety messages in your school and community. Contact City Lifeguards on 07 5581 6740 to arrange a school visit.
Pet education
Be Pet Smart is a free interactive program for children to learn about responsible pet ownership and dog bite prevention.
Stormwater safety awareness
Help save lives with this safety program designed to educate children on the dangers of playing in stormwater. Curriculum-aligned. Suitable for Years 3-7.

Every April, Queensland Youth Week hosts a range of events to celebrate young people aged 12 to 25 and the positive contribution they make to our communities.
Science and the environment
Botanic Gardens Education program (primary and secondary)
This program offers free outdoor hands-on learning experiences. Topics include conservation, biodiversity, sustainability and indigenous perspectives. Curriculum-aligned. It's free of charge, for class sizes of between 25 and 30 students (with teacher supervision).

Coastal education (primary and secondary)
Students can learn first-hand about our precious coastal environment with CoastEd and other programs.
Koala conservation
The Koala Conservation Education Program is a school program targeted at local Year 4 and 7 students. The program is designed to develop students’ knowledge of koalas, their habitat and threats, and relevant conservation measures.
NaturallyGC Program
Connect, conserve and explore nature with NaturallyGC and participate in a variety of free and low-cost, nature-based education workshops, activities, events and nature-based recreation across the Gold Coast.
Tree planting program (all ages)
Schools can join this free program to either host a tree planting day for their group or join an existing scheduled tree planting day.
Watersaver program
This fun and engaging program educates students about water conservation and the City of Gold Coast’s initiative to reduce water consumption.

Junior Council is a two-year leadership and civic program for Years 10 and 11 students attending Gold Coast high schools.

This program educates students about the personal, community and environmental consequences of graffiti. Curriculum-aligned. Suitable for Years P-12.
