Summer holidays

Finally, summer has returned to the Gold Coast and the beach season is about to commence.

In the next few months, the demand for tourism products on the Gold Coast, Australia's number one holiday destination, will increase and hopefully we can welcome a large number of international backpackers and adventure travellers.

Clipper Round the World

Clipper Round the World

The internationally renowned yacht race and world's premier ocean challenge where amateurs pit against each other in a 60,000 kilometer global race has its stop over on the Gold Coast.

The volunteer organisation "Sailability" is inviting Gold Coast's premier food suppliers, producers and businesses to support the fundraising activities held on 11-24 December 2011 at the Southport Yacht Club.

Another opportunity to support this great cause is to donate any industry related products to the Christmas Hamper which will be drawn at the 102.9 Hot Tomato Carols by Candlelight, 17 December 2011 in Jack Gordon Park, adjoining the yacht club.

According to Business Gold Coast the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race stopover will attract approximately 6,000 people to the city throughout the stopover from 11-24 December 2011 and inject close to $9 million into the local economy.

Companies that donate products will receive numerous promotional benefits.

Products for the hamper should be dropped off no later than 12 December 2011 directly at the Southport Yacht Club. For more information on this great event, go to Facebook (ClipperGoldCoastAustralia) and Twitter (@Clipper_GC_Aus) or
