The free upsized recycling bin is only available for new green waste bin services during the promotion period 1 September 2019 until 29 February 2020.

Green waste bins are an easy and affordable way for residents and businesses to quickly and easily dispose of their garden waste. The green waste bin can accept grass clippings, palm fronds, prunings, weeds, leaves and small branches. The green waste bin is serviced fortnightly on the alternate week to the yellow lid recycling bin.

For around $1 per week, you can have a green waste bin at your home.

The green waste bin promotion runs from 1 September 2019 until 29 February 2020. If you sign up for a new green waste bin service during the promotional period, your standard recycling bin will be upgraded for free to a larger recycling bin.

The green waste bin is 240 litre in capacity, with a natural green base and a lime green lid. The upsized recycling bin is 360 litre in capacity, with a natural green base and a yellow lid. If you are unsure of the capacity of your bins you can check easily by lifting the lid of your bin, and looking around the rim.

The expected timeframe for delivery of your new bin(s) is approximately 10 business days from receipt of your application. In some instances, the timeframe for delivery may be affected by your property location and the delivery schedule of our contractor. When advised via a text message, please ensure you leave your current recycling bin on the kerb so it can be swapped for your larger bin. If your standard recycling bin is not left kerbside the contractor will not be able to deliver your new larger recycling bin.

When you receive the free upsized recycling bin (360L) as part of the promotion, there will be no additional ongoing cost for the larger capacity. The one off establishment fee of $19.40 for the larger recycling bin has been waived for this promotion. You can find more information on increasing your recycling efforts by visiting the What to recycle? page of our website.

Both property owners and tenants can apply for this service. Fees apply for this service.
